Recently, Chongqing Education Commission announced the 2021 Bayu Scholars Selected list. Kang Yong, professor of The College of Power and Machinery, Wuhan University, and adjunct professor of the School of Resources and Safety Engineering, Chongqing University, was selected as 2021 Bayu Scholars "Lecture Professor" list. Associate Professor Liao Zhiwei of the School of Resources and Safety Engineering was selected as the "Young Scholar" of Bayu Scholars in 2021.
It is reported, "rivers, scholars" is distinguished professor of Chongqing city board of education to promote the construction of "double top" in colleges and universities in Chongqing, attract and introduce the domestic and foreign outstanding young and middle-aged talents, foster a batch of domestic and international advanced level of the leader, improve the academic status of colleges and universities in Chongqing and competitive power of a key talent project. The selection of Bayu scholars will be held once a year, with each term of 3 years. The selection process includes selection by universities, selection and recommendation, expert evaluation, conference approval, publicity and other procedures. In 2021, 50 chair professors and 100 young scholars will be selected.
Professor Kang Yong
Kang Yong, male, born in October 1978, deputy dean, professor and doctoral supervisor of College of Power and Mechanics, Wuhan University, deputy Director of Hubei Key Laboratory of Water Jet Theory and New Technology. He is also the new Century Excellent Talent of the Ministry of Education, the Outstanding Youth of Hubei Province, the expert of national Science and Technology Expert Bank, the member of China Coal Society, the Standing Member of China Water Jet Technology Committee, and the Standing member of Hubei Machinery Design and Transmission Committee. He has been engaged in the research of high-pressure water jet theory and technology and its application in unconventional natural gas exploitation for a long time. He has published more than 100 papers, 2 books and more than 20 authorized invention patents. It has won one Second prize of National Science and Technology Progress award (ranked 6th), one first prize of Hubei Province Science and Technology Progress Award (ranked 1st), one first prize of China Coal Industry Association science and Technology Award (ranked 3rd), and one first prize of Ministry of Education Technology Invention Award (ranked 4th).
Professor Liao Zhiwei
Liao Zhiwei, Ph.D., associate professor/doctoral supervisor, mainly engaged in the teaching and scientific research on the causes of deep-time geological events and oil and gas exploration related to black rock series. He has presided over more than 15 scientific research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (2 projects), the Chongqing Municipal Foundation (2 projects) and the Chongqing Education Commission Foundation. As a principal researcher, he has participated in 7 national projects such as "973" and "National Key RESEARCH and Development Program". In recent 5 years, he has published more than 30 papers in authoritative journals at home and abroad, including 20 as the first author or corresponding author. At the same time, he also serves as the youth editorial board of several mainstream journals, and the communication reviewer of academic theses and natural Science Foundation of the Ministry of Education.
