On November 18, 2021, professor Zhu Hehua, an alumnus of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, from the College of Civil Engineering, Tongji University, was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Congratulations to Professor Zhu Hehua on being elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering!
Zhu Hehua was born in October 1962. He graduated from The Department of Mining Engineering, Chongqing University with a bachelor's degree in chemical Ore mining in 1983 and a master's degree in mining engineering in 1986. Currently he is a distinguished professor of Tongji University, a national registered Civil (geotechnical) engineer, director of Civil Information Technology Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education, and the principal of Tunnel and Underground Construction Engineering of Tongji University.
More than 30 years have been engaged in teaching and scientific research work in the field of tunnel and underground space, had to be included in the national 973 project's chief scientist, is the earlier research on digital underground space and project (DUSE), one of the scholars is considered by international peers as "urban infrastructure planning, design, construction and maintenance of information integration method of international pioneers". He has been awarded the Humboldt Research Prize (2015, the only one in China's civil engineering field), bian Xue 𨱠Award for International Academic Contribution (2013), the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress (2 items, both ranked first), and the first prize of scientific and technological Achievements of provincial and ministerial level and first-class institutes (9 items).
